On February 12, 2025, the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences and the Wesel Employment Agency signed an important cooperation agreement. This partnership aims to support students in various phases of their academic career, especially in study orientation, advice during their studies and starting their career. This official collaboration was led by Prof. Oliver Locker-Grütjen, President of the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, and Barbara Ossyra, the head of the employment agency.
The new agreement includes a number of operational advisory services that provide support for students in the event of doubts about their course of study or choice of study. A central element is the collaboration with the project "Next Step Niederrhein", which implemented measures to avoid dropouts. The aim of the cooperation is to secure the growth of skilled workers in the region in the long term and to prepare the students efficiently for the regional and national labor market.
extensive support offers
Various consulting services are provided in the cooperation agreement. This includes individual accompaniment during your studies and assistance in the job integration for graduates. The support takes place in both German and English, which benefits international students. The consultations are offered on the premises of the university in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort.An example of the needs-oriented advice is the "CV check", which helps students optimize their CVs and cover letters. Regular exchange meetings are also planned to continuously develop and adapt the cooperation. The Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, which was founded in 2009, offers a total of 25 bachelor and 11 master's programs. Around 75 % of these programs are in English, and the university combines over 6,500 students from more than 120 nations.
