Record raid: Customs investigators ensure 153 kilos of cocaine in Wilhelmshaven!

An enormous amount of cocaine was secured on December 27, 2024 in Wilhelmshaven. A cargo ship was checked in the operation of the common investigation group Rauschgift (GER), which consists of officials from the Hanover customs investigation office and the Oldenburg Central Criminal Inspectorate, which was about 300 meters long. A noise -purehound was used in this use to discover the drugs.

A total of around 153 kilograms of cocaine were found, which were packed in five large packages and wrapped with fishing nets. The individual packages add up to about 150. The estimated street sales value of the drugs is in the middle double -digit million range. After the rescue, the drugs were housed in a safe place to stay. The investigation that takes place under the management of the Oldenburg public prosecutor's office relate to the suspicion of the import smuggling and possible suspects.

Investigations in the context of "Plexus"

The confiscated amount is part of larger anti-drug investigations, as explained in a report by Tagesschau.de Drugs investigators have ensured a record amount of more than 35 tons of cocaine as part of the "Plexus" investigation. These were mostly found in the port of Hamburg.

The public prosecutor's office Düsseldorf recently reported "dozens of tons of cocaine", the value of which is estimated at several billion euros. The investigation led to searches in seven federal states and abroad, where more than 40 accused were arrested. The cocaine was smuggled from South America via the Canary Islands into the EU. These missions are in the context of international fighting of crime, in which the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) is also involved. After ensuring 700 kilograms of cocaine, the investigation began in August 2023.
