Repair work on the dirty water canal: Grülingsstraße becomes a one -way street

On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, important repair work on the wastewater canal begins on Grülingsstraße in Saarbrücken. This work concerns the section between house number 4 and the intersection with Heinrich-Köhl-Straße and Kálmánstrasse. This necessary measure will result in a half -side blocking of the Grülingsstrasse in this area. The traffic towards Rodenhof is redirected to one -way street during the construction work. The detour takes place via Heinrich-Köhl-Straße and Jägersfreuder Straße. The remaining parts of the Grülingsstraße as well as the adjacent Europaallee and Lützelbach Bridge remain unaffected by the work and are still accessible in both directions. According to the city administration of Saarbrücken, which informs about the upcoming measures, the expected duration of the canal work is estimated until Friday, May 9, 2025. The total costs for the measure amount to around 35,000 euros, whereby weather -related delays cannot be excluded.

Special precautions have been taken for residents and pedestrians. Residents are asked to reach their properties in consultation with the construction company. Pedestrians can safely pass the construction site via designated pedestrian transfer. In addition, access for rescue and fire engines is guaranteed at any time in order to enable quick help in an emergency. The stops "Grülingsstraße C" and "Central Station North" are eliminated during the construction work.

long -term construction projects in Düsseldorf

Before the actual sewer renovation work, supply lines for gas, water and electricity must be laid and renewed from July 2025. The sewer renovation is carried out in two sections: In the first section, which affects the forest path, the processing is carried out in a closed construction with pipe cruise and the system of several shafts. The second section, which extends to Blanckertzstrasse, is carried out in an open construction.

traffic management and residential information

Despite the extensive work, traffic on Bergische Landstraße remains two-lane, but under cramped conditions and with a Tempo 30 limit. Foot and cycle paths can be largely used, but not on both sides at the same time. Initial tree felling in the area of the Gallberg started in February 2025. The construction site facility extends over 2,500 square meters north of the Forster Weg. Residents are informed in good time and in detail about the upcoming construction work in order to minimize any inconvenience.
