New health center in Friedewald: Start of construction in the summer of 2025!
In Friedewald, construction begins closer to a new health center. The VR Bankverein Bad Hersfeld-Rotenburg eG has taken important steps in cooperation with the municipality of Friedewald and the BAG Meiß/Ferat to improve medical care in the region. The rental contracts between the partners are signed and the municipality provides a rent subsidy for local general practitioners. In this context, Mayor Julian Kempka emphasizes the responsibility of the community for the medical care of its citizens.
The project has a long history. As early as 2010, considerations started to build an office and service building, which finally failed. In 2017, considerations for a new building were made on a parking space on the DRK senior home. The plans were slacked in 2021 when the municipal parliament approved the new building without day care. With the support of the VR banking club in 2022, the project was finally implemented.
Details on the construction project
The planned health center is built on Motzfelder Straße/Hauptstraße and comprises several rental units and 19 parking spaces. A barrier -free access is ensured by an elevator. The family practice of Hendrik Meiß and Filis Ferat is housed on the ground floor, which occupies an area of about 225 m². On the first floor, the nursing service "Fosterblitz" is accommodated with approx. 227 m². In addition, the second floor offers around 215 m² for other medical professions that are divisible if necessary.
The expected total costs for the project amount to around 3 million euros. The start of construction is planned for the summer of 2025, and the construction work is expected to take 12 to 15 months.
perspectives for health care
The creation of a health center is of great importance in rural regions such as Friedewald. Medical and nursing care is an essential part of general interest. With low population density and a limited number of health care facilities, innovative solutions are required to ensure high -quality care. In rural areas there are often long travel routes for patients. However, the population expects basic health services, regardless of the place of residence.
The current situation illustrates that rural areas are often affected by a lack of specialists. Innovative models, such as creating cooperating networks between home and specialists as well as telemedicine, could help improve medical care. Projects such as the health center in Friedewald are a step in the right direction to master the challenges in rural health care.
