Ernst Alt: enjoyment of art for the 90th at a big anniversary exhibition in Saarlouis!
The Ludwig Galerie Saarlouis opens a comprehensive exhibition on April 13, 2025, which takes place on the occasion of the 90th birthday of the Saarland artist Ernst Alt. The event takes place in the old brewery in Saarlouis and shows numerous works that have so far not been presented in a greater connection. Among the exhibited work can be found early in the 1950s to find artistically designed diaries and plastic work.
Ernst Alt (1935 - 2013) was a formative figure in the Saarland art scene. He became known for his work in the sacred space, where he designed altars, ambas and baptismal basins. Especially in the diocese of Trier, he left traces with his window cycles and bronze portals in churches such as St. Ludwig in Saarlouis and St. Johann in Saarbrücken. His art combines antiquity, medieval and modern topics and often refers to current social issues.

The exhibition will present works that cover a wide range of topics, including antiquity and Old Testament issues and the image of man from Ernst Alt. Successful creations include:
