Cycling fair in the Rhein-Sieg district: pleasure, adventure and e-bikes!
Next Sunday, March 10, 2025, the cycling fair in the Rhein-Sieg-Forum opens its doors to visitors. The general German bicycle club (ADFC), under the direction of trade fair chief Jörn Fank, expects around 3000 guests, similar to last year. With 90 exhibitors and a varied program, the event will represent a shop window for cycling enthusiasts.
A central partner of the fair this year is the Alsace region from the east of France. It brings an impressive cycle path network of 2500 kilometers, which is used annually by around 1.6 million cyclists. Among other things, three large European cycling routes run along the picturesque landscapes of Alsace, which provide a variety of cultural sights and nature experiences. Visitors can look forward to culinary offers and non -alcoholic beverages at the Alsace booth.
cultural heritage and landscapes in Alsace
The Alsace region is rich in historical heritage, which includes both Celtic and Alemannic, Romanesque and Franconian influences. Particularly noteworthy is the city of Strasbourg, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its impressive architecture, especially the cathedral tower. The romantic villages of Colmar, Obernai and Riquewihr also attract cyclists with their traditional half -timbered buildings and quaint churches.
Another highlight are the gentle vineyards and deep forests of the Vosges that offer ideal conditions for relaxed bike tours and mountain biking. The multitude of themed paths in the region complements cultural experience by conveying the history of the area and offering breathtaking panoramas.
innovations on the cycling fair
The ADFC has put together an informative lecture program for the fair. Among other things, Armin Padberg will report on his e-bike tour from Hamburg to Zugspitze. Jürgen Dahlmann will address the switch to e-bikes, while Matthias Schwindt presents new trends in navigation. Daniel Kassin from XXL Feld will present news about e-bikes that have recently recorded an increase in sales. Frank Breuer from Veloland also talks about the growing demand for e-bikes, which are becoming increasingly popular, especially in the current travel trends.
In addition, the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis region advertises at the booth for its regional offer, while the Ahrtal stand shows progress in reconstruction after the flood disaster 2021. The Ruhr area, on the other hand, presents exciting industrial monuments as part of new bike tours.
The cycling fair could not only offer an ideal platform for the passionate cyclists, but also for families and short vacationers. This fits very well into the current trend towards sustainable travel, which is promoted by initiatives within the European Union in order to make the tourist experience more environmentally friendly. The focus is on both experienced cyclists and new enthusiasts.
