Apply now for the Palatinate Prize: 1,000 euros for youth work!
The Palatinate offers young sports talents and committed sports clubs the opportunity to present their outstanding performance in youth promotion. From now on, sports clubs in the area of the Pfalz sports association can apply for the Palatinate Prize "Jugend und Sport" 2025. This prize, which was launched by the district association Pfalz and the Sportjugend Pfalz in cooperation with the AOK Rheinland-Palatinate, honors exemplary youth work and provides a total of five awards of 1,000 euros.
The Palatinate Prize has been awarded since 1992 and has established itself over the years as an important award that focuses on the social aspects of club youth work and not on the sporting achievements. The aim is to promote and appreciate general youth work in the sports clubs. The application deadline runs until April 15, 2025, and the winners will be chosen on June 28, 2025 as part of a central final event in Holiday Park in Haßloch. The participants can present their strongest activities from 2023 and 2024.
application and evaluation
The submitted applications are assessed by an independent jury that takes a look at the youth activities outside of training and competitions. Examples of evaluable activities are popular sports offers, play festivals, free time as well as initiatives for child health and child protection. In addition to the main prize, the Sportjugend Pfalz also awards special prices with a total value of 8,000 euros, whereby the focus is on clubs with a convincing youth concept.
clubs who want to apply should document their projects through pictures or reports. The detail and the social effects of the offers are crucial criteria for the evaluation. Stefan Leim, the chairman of the sports youth Palatinate, emphasizes that by increasing the prize money from 500 to 1,000 euros per club, a new sign of appreciation for the work has been made.
success of the past
The successful award of recent years shows the diversity and commitment of the participating sports clubs. At the last award ceremony in 2023, the gymnastics and sports club 1911 Heiligenstein, TSV Carlsberg and the dance sports club 1992 "Royal" Rülzheim were awarded. These clubs were recognized for their high -quality youth concept and their social engagement. District parental Ruth Ratter also emphasized the role of these clubs in integration and transfer of competence to the youth.
All interested sports clubs are called to apply to the coveted price and thus focus on valuable youth work in the region. More information on the application and the requirements can be viewed on the website of the Sportsbund Pfalz at www.sportbund-pfalz.de .
