Kallstadt celebrates Fully Life”: Festival for Sustainability and Sport!
from June 21 to 29, 2025, Kallstadt becomes the scene of a festival under the motto "Fully Life". The event is organized jointly by the local community of Kallstadt, Misereor and the Diocese of Speyer. The focus is on topics such as sustainability, global justice and joie de vivre. This event is aimed at citizens and visitors and is intended to raise awareness of current global challenges.
A particularly exciting highlight of the festival will be the world record attempt by the extreme cyclist Christoph Fuhrbach. He plans to complete 10 "Everestings" on Lindemannsruhe. This means that he wants to cope with more than 277 climbs with a total climb of over 11,000 meters every day, which results in a total volume of 88,480 meters of altitude and over 2,500 kilometers. The attempt begins on June 21, 2025 at 4:20 a.m. and should draw attention to the UN Sustainability Goals (SDGS). This agenda was accepted by all UN Member States in 2015 and provides for 17 goals that are supposed to devote themselves to the fight against poverty and inequality and at the same time combat climate change, such as sdgs.un.Or
diverse program
The festival program offers a variety of interactive educational offers, cultural events, music and readings. Particular attention is paid to the guided benefit hike "Solidarity goes", which leads from Bad Dürkheim to Kallstadt. This hike supports projects by Misereor, an organization that campaigns against the causes of poverty.
In addition, it will be a lunch impulse with Bishop Dr. Karl-Heinz Wiesemann, who talks about faith, responsibility for creation and global solidarity. Cultural highlights of the festival are events with the extreme athlete Christian Englert, the globetrotter Joshua Nichell as well as concerts by "Elsa & the quarter tone" and "Khumo".
A special cycling Sunday is planned on June 29, on which the route is blocked for more than 250 bike enthusiasts. At the end of the festival, Christoph Fuhrbach will report in a talk about his experiences and his world record attempt. Kallstadt, which was selected as a model of the "Palatinate Forest: SDG model region for a sustainable Rhineland-Palatinate", thus actively contributes to promoting the UN sustainability goals, as well as the Bistum Speyer
The UN sustainability goals themselves are the result of decades of efforts to cooperate. This agenda builds on previous programs such as Agenda 21 and the declaration of millennium, which took significant steps to combat poverty and promote sustainability. Every year on the high -ranking political forum is reported on the progress of the SDGS, which encourages the global community to strengthen its efforts in sustainable development.
