Protect nature: GNA revitalizes habitats for endangered species!
The Society for Nature Conservation and Auen Development (GNA) took measures in Wächtersbach to offer the endangered yellow -bellied grenction a suitable habitat. For this purpose, the Köhlersaue was freed from disturbing vegetation. In the reflexive review of the past year, the GNA emphasizes the importance of cooperation partners and refers to various projects in the areas of renaturation, species protection and environmental education, which have been implemented in cooperation with local partners.
Since 2021 there has been a cooperation with the Nabu Biebergemünd-Flörsbachtal, which is devoted to the revival of the Lohrbachaue as a wetland. The measures include the dismantling of a dilapidated sheepfold and the fight against trees and neophytes by regularly mowing the site. In addition, a 1000 square meter tidal flood shaft with reproductive bumps for various types of amphibia was created.
diverse protective measures
The GNA Foundation Man and Nature is planning the new system of a shallow water tumor in February 2024. In the summer of 2023, Measures for further development were implemented in the men's broken wetland, which included converting a trench into a wetland. A domestic flower mixture was sown on the “lapwing island”, which led to sights of forest water runners and cordless bio. In addition, a reed biotope was renatured to offer the water rake a habitat.
Another step to promote natural diversity was the renewal of the lake nature trail on Lake Ruhlsee, which was realized in cooperation with the city of Langenselbold. The GNA has also been working with the Paltech company since 2022 to combat the spread of the toxic autumn timeless. The care inserts for the yellow -belly tok in the Köhlersaue were made possible by funding from the environmental lottery.
For 2025, the GNA is planning various events and seminars, including outdoor events for children and a seminar on water science. Possibilities for donations for nature and species protection are also offered. The yellow-belly high, which lives in regular flooded floodplains, is an outstanding way that occurs exclusively in Europe, whereby Baden-Württemberg is at the center of its distribution. According to ForstBW, the species is mobile, adaptable and has also conquered the economic forest. Water -filled lanes that arise during wood transport in the forest serve as reproductive facilities for the yellow -belly tour, even though they are undesirable from the point of view of soil protection.
