Bad Kreuznach strengthens international relationships through youth projects!
On April 15, 2025, an important meeting of the association for town twinning and international relationships took place in Bad Kreuznach. Mayor Emanuel Letz and Nathalie Herberger thanked the board for their valuable work. The main task of the association is the financial support of the youth exchange between Bad Kreuznach, Neuruppin and Bourg-en-Bresse. A political delegation from Bourg-en-Bresse is currently planning a working meeting in Bad Kreuznach from April 3 to 5, 2025.
In addition, a delegation from Neuruppin is expected from May 22nd to 24th, 2025. Numerous projects were funded last year, including the trip of the Lihi-Bigband to Neuruppin, an anniversary for the 50th anniversary of the city twinning with Bourg-en-Bresse as well as various visits and competitions.
funding measures and future projects
The support association is also planning grants for youth meetings between schools this year. A highlight will be a visit to the Big Band of the Lina Hilger High School in Neuruppin in June 2025. Achim Kliebsch, who was again confirmed as chairman, promoted new members for the association in the meeting to further strengthen the activities. The support association was founded only a year ago and has been actively involved in maintaining the city twinning.
since thenAbove all, the successful establishment of the new homepage of the association ensures that information about past and planned projects is now available online. This new platform also enables the publication of photos and reports of schools, families and associations, which increases the visibility of the exchange programs.
commitment to the city twinning
The city has joined the tasks of the support association since 2013 and supports its activities, in particular through grants for travel costs for schools in visits to the partner cities. Christine Simmich, who was responsible for town twinning in the city administration until June 2024, was passed by the board during the meeting. Your services were recognized by a small thank you, while the search for host families continues to be a central topic.
The association will continue to actively participate in the “Living City” foundation in Hamburg, in which a price amount of 15,000 euros for exemplary town twinning will continue to take part in the “The Living Cities Partnership” competition. These initiatives are part of the constant commitment of the city of Bad Kreuznach to maintain and expand international relationships.
