Women take the command: Carnival in the Mayen-Koblenz district house!
On February 28, 2025, women from the district administration took command in the district house of the district of Mayen-Koblenz. The event under the motto "Manege Frei" took place in a festive, carnival atmosphere. District Administrator Marko Boos and the first district member Pascal Badzong were present and had to face a few tricky challenges in the ring, which they mastered with a good dose of humor. The traditional battle cry "Helau, Alaaf, Mayoh, Ahoi, Meck-Meck, Säbalä, Hädau, Jelau, Maju, Wilau" strengthened the exuberant atmosphere in the solemn takeover.
The way to equality
The efforts to equality in management positions are not only regional, but also relevant at federal level. The Federal Ministry of Family Affairs reports that the proportion of women in management positions has been continuous since the amended Federal Equal Opportunities Act (BGleig) 2015 rises. The same partial options are to be achieved by the end of 2025, as defined in the management position law (Füpog II) of 2021.
Despite these progress, the proportion of women in leading positions in the highest federal authorities is still worrying. The proportion of women in management positions rose from 33% in 2015 to 40% in 2021, but the sub -representation remains a challenge. FÜPOG II obliges the departments to improve the framework conditions to promote equality.With a clear plan to promote female managers and regular monitoring, these challenges should be addressed and the visibility of the women's shares in management positions are increased. In companies and the authorities it becomes increasingly clear that the time for women has come in management positions, which effortlessly illustrate events such as those in the district house.
