On May 10, 2025, the new bicycle bridge over the Guldenbach and the associated section of the Guldenbach cycle path in the Langenlonsheim-Stromberg community will be inaugurated. This opening symbolically stands for the completion of an approximately ten -year project that became necessary after the old bridge had to be closed due to safety defects. The redesigned bridge is crucial for the improved connection from Langenlonsheim to the outdoor pool, the train station and the nearby cycle path.
The inauguration begins at 12 p.m. and is accompanied by Mayor Michael Cyfka together with other local citizens and prominent guests such as State Secretary Petra Dick-Walther and district administrator Bettina Dickes. The project was financed by the special program of the "City and Land" of the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport, whereby the total costs are around 1.2 million euros, of which around 900,000 euros will be paid to the federal government. The community bears a share of 338,029 euros.
The new bike path
The new building of the Guldenbach cycle path comprises a length of 1.72 km and a width between 2.50 and 3 m. The path is predominantly attached, and the construction work extended from September 2024 to March 2025. The new bike bridge itself is simple and has a steel beam grate with a span of 20 m. 2025 instead.
