Kreuznacher Diakonie takes over Franziskaner facilities in Bad Kreuznach!
The Kreuznach Diakonie Foundation will take over the insolvent facilities of the Franciscan brothers in Bad Kreuznach and thus ensure the continued operation. This takeover was officially confirmed and approved by the Federal Cartel Office. The contracts were signed on January 5, 2025, and the expected takeover time is February 1, 2025.
The facilities taken over are the St. Marienwörth hospital, the Palliative base in Rheinhessen-Nahe, the St. Josef retirement home and the Medical Care Center (MVZ) near the Mühlenstraße campus. The change of carrier is gradually implemented and the Kreuznach Diakonie Foundation is actively involved in corporate control. The first integration measures begin in January 2025.
Integration and future prospects
After completing the takeover, the continued operation of the facilities is ensured by subsidiaries of the foundation. A central goal of the foundation is to merging the St. Marienwörth hospital with the Diakonie Klinikum in Bad Kreuznach in order to combine the strengths of both clinics and to ensure a broader offer. In the future, the facilities are to operate under the name "Diakonie Kliniken Bad Kreuznach gGmbH". The future managing director will be Manuel Seidel, who previously worked as a commercial director of the Diakonie Hospital.
The Kreuznach Diakonie Foundation has 135 years of history and takes responsibility for people in different life situations. With the acquisition of the new facilities in Bad Kreuznach, it expands its offer and ensures important social and medical services in the region.
