Caricature exhibition: Climate and consumption in Rockenhausen!

The cartoon exhibition "Brilliant prospects" will be opened in the Rockenhausen city library from February 20, 2025. This exhibition, which deals with the topics of "climate, consumption and other catastrophes", is part of a hiking exhibition that pursues an important concern: it stimulates visitors to think about human abysses and global relationships. The initiators, the regional group "Grandma's for Future Nahew-Glan", are committed to climate and environmental protection and offer educational offers for school classes and other organizations. Registrations are required at Nahe-Glan@GrandmaSFORFUTURE or by phone at 0175 3466707.

The vernissage will take place on Thursday, February 20, at 6.30 p.m. in the city library, Kreuznacher Straße 18. The cartoon exhibition will be shown by March 5, 2025. The opening times are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Admission to the exhibition is free.

diverse perspectives on climate change

The caricature exhibition in Rockenhausen is an addition to an already ongoing presentation in the Kirner town hall, which was also opened on February 7, 2025. This shows an impressive connection to the current global challenges and includes a total of 99 caricatures of 44 regional and national artists. The work is designed in such a way that they illustrate the effects of climate change in a funny, amazing and partly frightening way. As the Kirner Land reports report, the exhibition has already been received very positively in Meisenheim and has stimulated numerous visitors to reflect on the noticeable consequences of global warming.

The Grandma's for future near-glan has been actively involved in climate protection for two years. Your initiatives not only include exhibitions, but also information events, vigils and clothing exchanges. Special educational offers for active examination of the caricatures are particularly provided for school classes of the Kirner high schools. This includes discussions, an interactive future quiz and a 30 meter long climate beam that enables a journey through time through 200 years of climate change.

support from the community

The exhibition is supported by the Rotary Club Kirn-Nahe, which takes over the printing costs for the posters and takes care of the catering for opening the exhibition. All interested parties are invited to visit the exhibition and to deal with the topics of the environment and climate change in an entertaining, but also thoughtful way.

The website of the Grandomas for Future is available for further information on the exhibition and the events. The use for climate protection and the increase in sensitivity to environmental issues plays a central role in today's world, since the challenges due to climate change are increasing.
