Tragic accident: missing Fritz D. found dead in Kröv!
On January 4, 2025, the 85-year-old Dutchman Fritz D., missing since December 30, 2024, was found dead. The last sighting of the older man occurred in a wine house in Kröv. On January 3, 2025, his vehicle, an anthracite -colored Skoda Karoq, was discovered in a forest above the Zeltinger roundabout, which led to a large -scale search.
The search measures included the police, fire brigade, rescue dog relays, drones and a police helicopter. Despite intensive searches, Fritz D. initially disappeared. On the morning of January 4, 2025, emergency services discovered a lifeless person about 400 meters from the vehicle around 9:50 a.m. The identification of the person by means of a Dutch driver's license confirmed that it was Fritz D.. Clear death signs were found at the site.
Investigations and support
First investigations indicate a tragic accident, whereby no evidence of external negligence was found. Further investigations are continued by the criminal police. The Bernkastel-Kues police thanked the population and the emergency services for their support in the search.
In another missing person, which now causes a stir in Germany, it is the Rebecca Reusch from Berlin, who has disappeared in 2019. She was last seen in the night of February 17, 2019 when she spent time with her oldest sister. On February 18, she did not appear to school, which prompted her parents to report them as missing. Investigations have shown that the police believe that it was killed, but no body has so far been found.
Rebecca, which was only 15 years old at the time of her disappearance, had left several personal objects, including clothing, backpack and mobile phone. Her brother-in-Law was arrested several times in connection with the case, but never charged. The case was handed over to the murder commission after the police officially declared Rebecca as missing on February 21, 2019. The investigation focuses on various theories, including the possible victim of an online predator or human trafficking. The case has caused considerable media attention in Germany, and the police received over 3,000 tips until April 2023.
