Neuwied: Telenotarz system revolutionizes emergency services in a circle!

In the Neuwied district, the telenotic system has been partially used shortly before the Christmas holidays. In this innovative approach, a telenot doctor via the smartphone of the emergency paramedic communicates directly with the patients and gives instructions to the emergency services on site. A total of five rescue guards in Neuwied are connected to the telenotarist system: Neuwied-Oberbieber, Hausen, Unkel, Asbach and Dierdorf.

The goal of the system is to relieve the emergency doctors, which in the future will only be called in life -threatening situations. The telenotarist system is implemented as part of the Montabaur emergency services area, which also includes the districts of Altenkirchen, the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis and the Westerwaldkreis.

Integration and training

District Administrator Achim Hallerbach was pleased with the integration of the five rescue guards and emphasized the need for contemporary structures in the rescue system. For the successful connection to the telenotarz system, training of the emergency paramedics were required, which were organized in addition to ongoing operation.

The guards in Linz and Neuwied-innerstadt are expected to follow until mid-2025. The telenot doctor can be requested via the integrated control center Montabaur. The support is made by telephone and video transmission of two telenotarz centers in Ludwigshafen and Trier. This system helps especially with longer travel times of the emergency doctor and offers the option of consulting medication distribution. It also supports the decision whether a patient has to go to the hospital.

It is important to emphasize that the telenot doctor does not replace the use of the emergency doctor on site; The emergency doctors continue to alert. The medical director of the Montabaur emergency services area confirm this role of the emergency doctor.
