On April 3, 2025, the "Girls 'Day-Girls' Future Day" took place at the Baumholder police inspection. Nine girls between the ages of 13 and 15 had the opportunity to get an exciting insight into the police profession. Under the guidance of civil servants, the participants were able to acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge.
The event included a wide range of activities that should help the girls develop a better understanding of the diverse tasks and the equipment of the police. The young participants had the opportunity to try the personal equipment themselves and get to know the so-called "leadership and tools" up close.

A special highlight was the demonstration by service dog handler Katharina Kettern, who performed with her dog, such as drugs or cash. The lecture by Andreas Conrad from Fachkommissariat 44 gave the girls valuable information about various drugs and their dangers, as well as the tasks of the criminal police.
In addition, the participants were able to visit a patrol car and got to know how the wax table works and other important aspects of the office. The opportunity to try out different breath alcohol measurements and laser measuring devices inspired the girls and made the day a clear and educational experience. Overall, the event was described as exciting and enriching.

The Girls' Day is part of Germany's largest professional orientation initiative that aims to break up gender -typical professions and to bring girls closer to the variety of professional opportunities. Registrations for this so -called girls' future day have already been completed, and there are 15 places available for each location of the Federal Criminal Police Office. The event takes place not only in Baumholder, but also in Wiesbaden, Berlin and Meckenheim, where girls from the 9th grade of all school types can take part. The participants must be safety -checked, which further restricts the selection.
These action days, which also include the Boys' Day, are important steps towards a cliché -free career choice for young generations. BKA emphasizes that over 23,300 offers and 174,000 places in Germany are available. These practice days not only promote professional orientation, but also actively contribute to the fact that over 25% of companies hiring previous participants as interns or trainees.
With a share of 32.4% of female students in MINT subjects in 2023, the promotion of practical experience and inspiring role models for girls is crucial to encourage future generations in these areas. BMFSFJ and the Federal Education Ministry therefore emphasize the importance of these action days for opportunities for opportunities.
