Badminton-U22: Pirmasens is the new Mecca of the youth championships!

The Kirchberghalle in Pirmasens will be the scene of the Southwest German U22 championships in badminton this weekend. The competition that begins on Saturday is an important event for young talents because it serves as a qualification for the German U22 championships. According to Rheinpfalz have 65 athletes from various federal countries such as Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and Thuringia announced their coming.

The organization of the event takes over the badminton team Pirmasens in cooperation with the PBC Münchweiler. However, this is not taken into account of the locals, since no participants run from Pirmasens. However, the PBC Münchweiler sends two athletes into the race: Eva Reith and Max Röhrdanz, who allegedly have outsider chances.

participants and disciplines

The championships are held in five disciplines: women's and men's singles, women's and men's doubles as well as mixed. The competitions start on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the mixed duels, followed by the individual competitions at 12.30 p.m. The focus will be on the double competition on Sunday.

The participants travel from different locations, with the longest journey of athletes from Jena and Weimar. The Badminton Association Rheinhessen-Palatinate is particularly represented, which includes numerous starters from SV Fischbach and SG Rheinhessen Offenheim/Bad Kreuznach.

success of the Fischbacher Jugend

The SV Fischbach recently was also active at the Junior Championships of the Mitte group in Worms. Here the players achieved several podium places and qualified for the German championships. Lukas Junker in particular set an exclamation mark with two runner -up championships in doubles and mixed. He is a change of partner, because his mixed partner Laura Kaiser, a former high school graduate of the Kaiserslauterer elite school of sport, reached the quarter-finals in singles, but had to leave the field to the field.

Felix Hammes also demonstrated his versatility by moving into the semi -finals in doubles with Jonas Kehl, while he was in the quarterfinals in singles. Hammes with Lena Germann also became a semi -finalist in mixed. Germann was able to reach the preliminary round in the women's singles after several hard -fought three -set fights. The successes of both actors are part of the qualification for the German championship, which takes place in Bonn-Beel this year, where many exciting games and scenes were already unmistakable, as well as Badminton.de

All placements of the young talents mentioned are part of the strategic preparations for the upcoming national challenges. The weekend in Pirmasens promises a lot of tension, with actors who will do everything possible to qualify for the German championships.
