Vandalism on K 48: Unknown lead posts tear from their anchoring!

On March 9, 2025, the Bad Kreuznach police inspection reported a worrying case of vandalism on the state road K 48. There were a total of 12 guidelines between Guldental and Winzenheim from their anchoring. The demolished posts were not only thrown onto the road, but also thrown into the adjacent embankment, which was an acute danger to road users. Fortunately, the danger spots were quickly recognized so that road users informed the police.

In the following, the police reset all the guidelines, but there is no stopping criminal aftermath. An investigation was initiated to track down the responsible perpetrators. The investigation concerns the § 145 StGB , which deals with the abuse of emergency calls and the impairment of accident prevention and emergency aid.

legal consequences

According to the provisions of the Criminal Code, people who consciously abuse emergency calls or signs can be punished with imprisonment of up to one year or with a fine. In addition, crimes that affect the pretense of an emergency or the elimination of warning and prohibition signs are punished with up to two years of imprisonment or fine. Such regulations should maintain public security and order.

The unauthorized removal or damage to protective devices for accident prevention represents a particularly serious attack on safety in road traffic and requires consistent action on the part of the law enforcement authorities.
