Circular registration office: Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm is there!

The joint registration office in Rhineland-Palatinate has expanded to include the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm, which was officially announced on February 11, 2025. This means that license plates with the letters BIT or Prü via the Newly formed registration office can now be requested. The inter-municipal cooperation now includes the districts of Bernkastel-Wittlich, Cochem-Zell, Vulkaneifel and Bitburg-Prüm. This initiative has proven to be extremely effective and offers a relief for the citizens and companies in the districts involved.

The improvement of the situation in the vehicle approval is particularly remarkable, since the processes for the residents of the Cochem-Zeller district have improved since January 2023. Citizens can now get an appointment for the vehicle rubber message easier. The central coordination of the appointment processes takes place via a common system that shows free appointments in the individual registration offices.

The possibility of visiting other administrations within the "Inter-municipal cooperation Eifel-Mosel-Hunsrück" network (IKZ) if no appointment is available, the flexibility for citizens and companies increases alike.

Another relief represents the use of signal points that can shape license plates for other counties. The responsible authority then captures its own seal. This promotes standardization and facilitates the approval processes of potential visitors from abroad.

From February 24, 2025, the appointment is provided via the common portal www.terminvergungportal.de and the website of the administrations, and the authorities number 115. These measures are part of the comprehensive efforts to modernize and make the approval processes more efficient.
