The indoor pool and the importance of the project
At this event, Scharrenbach praised the Schermbeck politicians for their determination to continue the project despite the increased construction prices. Mayor Mike Rexforth referred to the planning and construction phase and emphasized the support of the WasserSportverein Schermbeck (WSV), which is connected to around 3000 citizens and enables many children to learn to swim. The indoor pool is described as an important meeting point in the community.Rexforth thanks the minister and the team of department 35 for their support. The funding commitment for the teaching pool is 1.5 million euros, but the original own contribution rose from 75,000 euros to almost 800,000 euros due to cost increases and problems with the underground. However, the municipality remains optimistic and sees great opportunities in the new teaching swimming pool for the future development of the indoor pool and for the entire municipality of Schermbeck.
