Clever heating in Cochem-Zell: Citizens find out more at heating campaign

The heating campaign "Clever Heizen Cochem-Zell" celebrated its official start in the district house last weekend. Around 80 interested citizens were present and showed great interest in the information offered for heating modernization. In her opening speech, the district administrator Anke Beilstein emphasized the need for advisory and support formats for homeowners. She noted that there is currently a high uncertainty among the population regarding the new heating law. This is where the campaign comes in and offers comprehensive assistance from initial consultation to the actual implementation of heating measures.

Markus Nahlen from the Cochem-Zell district works explained the entire process that is available to home owners. Supported by the in-house company Climate & Energy, the energy agency "Our Climate-Cochem-Zell e.V.", the Consumer Center Rhineland-Palatinate and regional handicraft companies, owners are to be extensively informed. The aim is to give the citizens to find optimal solutions for the modernization of their heating systems.

The campaign offers a consulting and support package that is free and independent. Target groups are primarily homeowners who want to check, optimize or renew their heating systems. Energy consultant Bernhard Andre informed about suitable heating for different types of buildings and explained the steps to renew or optimize the heating system. This includes initial consultation, an on-site check and contact with qualified craft companies.

For households that take part in the campaign, there are also financial incentives. Participants can expect a saving of up to 240 euros at an on-site consultation. In addition, the first maintenance of new heaters is offered free of charge, and it is possible to win a price of 1,000 euros in the “Clever heating” competition. Individualized modernization premiums between 250 and 500 euros complete the offer.

For owners who want to modernize their heating, it is important to know the current funding opportunities. The federal funding for efficient buildings (BEG) supports the renovation of buildings for saving energy costs. As the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection reported , the continuation of these programs remains secure beyond the turn of 2023/2024

From 2025, special applications for heating optimization can continue to be made. The processing status of these applications can be viewed online.
