Motorcycle security day in Trier: Hears of the streets save life!
On May 4, 2025, the Trier police department organizes a motorcycle security day on its police department at Kürenzer Strasse 3 in Trier. The event starts at 9 a.m. with a market of possibilities, the experts from the Trier police headquarters, the Rhineland-Palatinate State Criminal Police Office, the police, the police, traffic watchdogs and the German Red Cross (DRK). These experts offer valuable insights and information about motorcycling.
The guided group exit, which leads about 80 kilometers through the attractive surroundings, is particularly outstanding. Police officers are available both during and after the tour. In addition to the possibility of exit, a practical demonstration for first aid in motorcycle accidents is also offered.diverse activities and information
In addition to the practical aspects, the motorcycle security day offers lectures on various topics related to motorcycling. A motorcycle blessing by police pastor Hubertus Kesselheim takes place at 10 a.m., which is also open to non -participating motorcycling. Participation is free of charge, whereby the journey with its own motorcycle (over 250 cc displacement) and wearing protective clothing are required. A prior registration via the police website is necessary.
The police canteen takes care of the physical well -being of the participants, where there is food and drinks. Interested parties can contact the Press office of the Trier police headquarters to obtain further information. Marc Fleischmann offers support on 0651 983 40021 or by email to pptrier.presse@polizei.rlp.de.
First aid for motorcycle accidents
Another central aspect of motorcycle security day is the topic of “first aid”. If someone as a first aider arrives at a motorcycle accident, it is important to ensure your own security immediately. The engine of the vehicle should be switched off and the environment should be checked on sources of danger. First aiders should attract a warning vest to be clearly visible, and then put the emergency call (112) to describe the situation clearly.
In the case of an accident victim that lies on the ground, it is important to pay attention to reactions. Lifting the visor of the helmet and the response of the injured are the first steps. If there is no reaction, it is advisable to call for help. The professional helmet decrease should ideally take place by two people, whereby the stability of the motorcyclist's head must always be observed during the process.
The importance of first aid courses for motorcyclists is emphasized again in this context. The ADAC offers first aid courses through its “Gelbilft” program to convey the necessary skills to convey motorcyclists. Supporting information about these courses can be viewed on the ADAC website.
Due to the awareness of these practical skills and participation in the motorcycle security day, participants can not only gain experience in motorcycling, but also make a valuable contribution to safety in road traffic.
It remains to be hoped that many motorcycle enthusiasts will take part in this interesting and educational day in order to become aware of both the joy of driving and the responsibility in road traffic.
