traffic safety strategy
The initiative to increase traffic safety is part of a comprehensive strategy that has been pursued since 2014. A more intensive, target group and crime-oriented traffic surveillance is required. The conscription for traffic safety is underlined by an increased perception of controls and corresponding sanctions. It is expected that the rules of the road user increase when the warning boundary is increased and the probability of discovery is increased.
The police measures are not only limited to speed controls; There are also considerations for the introduction of fines -reinforced driver's names for vehicle owners as well as the use of dialog displays on the preventive effect in road traffic. These devices have already been successful in different cities to reduce speed.
The police headquarters Trier is available for questions about the announced speed measurements. Interested citizens can contact the authority on 0651 983 40022 or by email to pptrier.presse@polizei.rlp.de to obtain further information.
Due to the targeted traffic control and the awareness of the public, the police hope to significantly improve security on the streets and thus make a positive contribution to the turnover of traffic. The population perceives interest in preventive measures and should be considered an important step in the right direction.
