Stone throwing on the road: woman in Wittlich injured - witnesses wanted!

On Monday, March 25, 2025, around 5:20 p.m. in the “Rommelsbach” street in Wittlich came to an incident that had unpleasant consequences for a 30-year-old woman who was traveling with her VW Passat. As she drove into the city, a group of young people threw a stone on the road. The stone hit the vehicle's windshield and significantly damaged it. After the incident, the young people were able to flee to the nearby city park.

The victim was able to call the police and now asks for clues who have observed the incident. Another shocking incident occurred on January 16, 2023 on the B 49 between Wittlich and Wittlich-Bombogen. This morning, around 6:50 a.m., there was a severe frontal collision between a Hyundai, dangers from a 30-year-old woman, and a Ford of a 51-year-old driver. The 30-year-old had gotten on the opposite lane for previously unknown reasons.

In the accident, a total of three people were injured. The driver of the Hyundai and her passenger suffered serious but not life -threatening injuries and had to be included in hospitals. The 51-year-old Ford driver was slightly injured and was released after outpatient treatment.

The total damage amounts to around 45,000 euros. Both vehicles were no longer ready to drive after the collision and had to be towed. The fire brigade Wittlich and four ambulances, including an emergency doctor, were on site. The B 49 had to be fully blocked for about four hours in the area of ​​the accident site, with a detour being set up.

The various incidents in the Region lead to an intensive discussion about safety in road traffic and the behavior of young people. Both the police and local authorities appeal to the population to be vigilant and report any form of misconduct to ensure security for all road users.
