Ulmen is planning a new youth room: A place for the future on the market square!

The city of Ulmen plans to finally set up a long -awaited youth room. The potential rooms for this project are located at the Bürgersaal directly on the market square. Currently, this room is still used by German Roten Kreuz (DRK) . However, an establishment of a youth room could be realized in the near future as soon as new accommodations have been found for the DRK. This would be great progress in the youth promotion of the region, because there is currently no special space for leisure activities and gatherings of young people in elm.

The youth room is not only a place for leisure activities, but could also be an important contribution to the social integration and personal development of young people. The DRK premises are currently being used, which focuses primarily on the holiday care of children. As part of this care, the DRK Bremen has opened a total of nine youth funding facilities since 2007, including eight leisure homes in various districts of Bremen. The organization also offers holiday care for 39 primary schools in Bremen, which guarantees comprehensive support for young people.

The role of the DRK in youth promotion

The drk Bremen already operates various programs that are precisely tailored to the needs of children and young people. One example is the active meeting in Arsten, which acts as an institutionally funded institution. The aim of this meeting is to create an environment for funding, encounter and joint learning for all generations.
