  • Identions, vehicle documents and house keys do not keep in the vehicle.
  • not store the valuables in the trunk.
  • keep the vehicle closed while driving.

In the broader perspective, there is an increasing problem of vehicle theft in Germany. According to a report by Authora , the number of stolen passenger cars (car) rose from 14,615 in 2022 to 15.924 in 2023. Vehicles of Asian manufacturers as well as SUVs and mid -range cars are particularly affected. In order to localize stolen vehicles faster, more and more security measures such as GPS trackers are recommended.

Developments in this regard are alarming and require a high degree of attention from both the residents and the police. The population is therefore asked to report suspicious perceptions quickly and theft victims should definitely file a criminal complaint.
