Full closure on B48: bypass at Imsweiler ensures traffic jam!
The traffic situation around Imsweiler will soon change decisively. According to current information from Rheinpfalz , the B48 is fully locked between Rockenhausen and Winnweiler. This measure is now getting closer because the full closure is to be implemented prematurely. It was originally planned to introduce the blocking for the summer holidays, but the state company Mobility (LBM) decided to prefer the work.
Volker Priebe, head of the project management specialist group at LBM, said that the earlier start of the work should ensure that the road has been completed in good time at the end of the holiday. Although no specific date for the start of the blocking was specified, May 12th is circulating as a potential date.
bypass and traffic impairments
The traffic blocking requires a large -scale detour via the L387. This detour leads from Imsweiler to Gundersweiler, Gehrweiler and Höringen. In order to minimize the impairments for traffic on the B48, full and partial closures in some areas are necessary, which are necessary for individual work steps, such as the information from lbm clarify.
During the construction work, the existing B48 is laid about 45 meters towards Alsenz. A special ramp is also built to connect the southern entrance to Imsweiler with the new bypass. The changed traffic routing will have no significant effects on the traffic process, apart from a speed limit to 30 km/h.
planning and outlook
Another concern of the LBM is to implement temporary full closures at both ends of the construction project during the construction period. These closures are necessary to establish the connections between the new bypass and the existing road. In order to keep the detour route as short as possible, the closures are separated from each other.
In the coming weeks, the LBM will publish comprehensive information on the construction work and the associated blocking in order to inform the road users in the best possible way and to prepare for the changes. After all, the goal is to avoid diversions when the new school year begins.
