On February 12, 2025, Kaiserslautern is all about athletics when the district championships of the West Palatinate are held in the Barbarossahalle. For many young athletes, this is the first competition of their career. The events start on Saturday at 10 a.m. and promise exciting competitions.

A total of 213 individual reports and eleven seasons were registered. The largest group of participants provides the 1. FC Kaiserslautern, followed by various clubs that also fight for the titles. Among other things, the LG Otterbach-Otterberg, TuS Otterbach, SV Miesau and SV Schopp are there. SV Börrstadt also becomes active by representing the Donnersberg district with two seasons.

The Pirmasens region, with several clubs such as the LAC Pirmasens, which competes with two seasons, as well as TV Thaleischweiler, TV Lemberg and SG Bruchweiler, is particularly well represented. The LAZ Zweibrücken also reported two athletes in the shot put and over 800 meters. The event includes district hall championships in the high jump as well as competitions for female and male youth in the age groups 12 to 20 years.

The upcoming disciplines are diverse. The competitions include the 50 meters, 800 meters, high jump and shot put. In addition, children can compete below the class classes over 50 meters, 800 meters and high jump.
