Young cyclists shine at Frankfurt-Eschborn and Rhineland-Palatinate Championship!
The RV Bolanden cyclists show remarkable achievements in the recent competitions in Frankfurt-Eschborn and Offenbach/Queich. On May 1, 2025, the U13 and U15 drivers experienced an exciting cycling classic in Frankfurt am Main, which of the A.V.O. Germany GmbH was organized. The cycling classic comprised competitions for professionals and young drivers and attracted around 10,000 spectators. In an exciting competition, Constantin La Cava (U13) and Raphael Ollig (U15) took part, both of which were accompanied by their Trainer Hermann Schäffer, who was not present.
The demanding route was characterized by curves, gradients and even a bridge that also made the race challenging. Raphael Ollig started first and, despite an injury -related training deficit, showed a strong performance by successfully positioning himself in a group and temporarily led the field. Constantin La Cava followed a short time later and was able to keep his pace constant, which led to an improvement in his average speed compared to previous races. In the end, Ollig and La Cava took place 30 and 21 and were very satisfied with their achievements, while the spectators cheered them on.
Rhineland-Palatinate championship in Offenbach/Queich
On the same day, the U11 drivers Luca Giro and Felix Bierling made their debut at the Rhineland-Palatinate Championship in Offenbach/Queich. The race took place for the 64. The U11 drivers started at 11:41 a.m. one minute after the U13 drivers. While Giro had difficulties at the beginning, he fought his way into the front. Felix was able to line up early in the management group and showed an excellent performance.
The race was dominated at high speed, with an average of 30 kilometers per hour. All their strength mobilized on the home stretch. Luca reached ninth, while Felix took fifth place behind a strong sprint. Both were very satisfied with their placements, especially in view of a starter field of 18 drivers.
Next challenges
If you look ahead, on May 10, 2025 the "Open Falconia" in Göllheim is pending on the industrial road from the Dyckerhoff company. The drivers plan to travel to the event with the racing bike, which not only offers you another challenge, but also the opportunity to compete in front of a home crowd.
The past competitions underline the commitment and talent of the young drivers of the RV Bolanden and show that the young generation of drivers is on a promising path to establish themselves in the cycling scene.
