A very special cycling race took place on April 24, 2025 in Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt. For the first time, an event was held directly in front of the Eintracht Frankfurt football stadium. The Bolanden (RVB) racing club was represented with three drivers who did the best despite the challenges of the new route. Trainer Hermann Schäffer took the opportunity to prepare his protégés with tactical instructions for the upcoming race.

The typical conditions were not to be underestimated. The route turned out to be more demanding, because numerous close curves demanded the greatest concentration and skill from the drivers. At 5:30 p.m. the starting signal for the age groups U13 and U11 was given, with both groups going into the race at the same time. A total of nine rounds with a total length of 12.4 kilometers had to be completed.

In the U13, eleven drivers, including Constantin La-Cava, started, who ended up in eleventh place. In the U11, the field of participants with seven drivers was a bit smaller, but here too the RVB starters were able to reach good placements. Felix Bierling secured fifth place while Luca Giro followed him on his heels and fought for sixth place.

Despite the difficulties of keeping the high pace, coach Schäffer was satisfied with the performance of his drivers. He emphasized that the tactical requirements were implemented well and that the joy of the race was noticeable. The athletes already expressed the desire to take part in this event next year.

look into the future

For the coming days, further competitions are already planned. Felix Bierling and Luca Giro will take part in the RLP state championship in Queich on May 1, 2025, while Constantin La-Cava and Raphael Ollig also compete in the race in Eschborn/Frankfurt on the same day. This route comprises 40 kilometers, which could be an advantage for La-Cava because it has good endurance.

In summary, the race in Deutsche Bank Park offers a promising start for the young talents of RV Bolanden, which motivated in the next competitions.
