Green event in Göllheim: Together at the campfire for the future!

On Saturday, a campaign event of the Greens took place in Göllheim, which was under the motto "Listening to the campfire". The event location, Jakobsruhe on Freiherr-vom-Stein-Straße, attracted around 30 participants, including families with children and seniors. The Greens' direct candidate for constituency 208, Lea Siegfried, was also on site. The 31-year-old from Kaiserslautern, who works as a physiotherapist in the healthcare system, shared her views on the necessary reform of hospital care.

Lea Siegfried, who has already completed several election campaign appointments, promised to work particularly for socio-political issues such as families, housing and health. She supported the hospital reform of Health Minister Karl Lauterbach, but pointed out the impending “hospital death”. This warning is particularly relevant in view of the demands of the German Hospital Society (DKG) after corrections to the law for a hospital reform (KHVVVG). According to the DKG, the existing reform does not contribute to combating the cold structural change and the closure of hospital locations, which leads to significant problems in many regions. The DKG warns of an impending bankruptcy wave among the hospitals, especially in Bavaria, where, according to the Bavarian Hospital Society (BKG), eight out of ten clinics expect losses.

growing number of members and positive response

The event in Göllheim enjoyed a promising number of participants. Lisett Stuppy, the member of the state parliament of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, was also positive about the course of the election campaign. The Donnersberger Greens reported on a successful housing election campaign and an increase in members, which is now 103. The commitment of Hannah Hutter, who was present as a 100th member, is particularly remarkable and actively committed to climate protection.

During the campfire, current topics such as migration and the AfD were discussed. The young families and seniors who gathered around the fire lively designed the evening and pretended the children with stick bread. This type of encounter and dialogue about political issues show the efforts of the Greens to strengthen their base and to take care of the concerns of the citizens.

Health policy in focus

The challenges in the healthcare system are diverse. Experts emphasize the need for political principles for a modern health policy that is intended to ensure efficient prevention and high -quality therapeutic measures. Including outpatient and inpatient processes is essential to increase the quality of care. The reform proposals, which include an electronic patient file and a digital strategy to optimize diagnostic processes, are on the political agenda of many parties.

The DKG and the BKG urgently call for improvements to the previous legislation in order to secure the financial stability of hospitals. This applies in particular to regions in which the supply offer is over or supplied. Only through clear framework conditions and support of politics can the medical care structures be secured in the long term and at the same time an improvement in the quality of treatment can be achieved.
