Rescue helicopter in Rhineland-Palatinate: missions decrease alarming!
In 2024, the ADAC air rescue in Rhineland-Palatinate recorded a significant decline in operations. A total of 7,907 alarms were registered, which means a decline in 8,761 missions in 2023. This corresponds to a decline of around 10 percent. The ADAC helicopters also moved to 49,048 operations throughout Germany, which corresponds to a decline of around 2,300 missions compared to the previous year, such as n-tv.de reported.
The most common locations in Rhineland-Palatinate were Wittlich with 1,767 missions, followed by Koblenz (1,761 missions), Imsweiler (1,609 missions) and Mainz (1,556 missions). A remarkable proportion of the rescue flights were attributable to twilight and night flights, with a total of 3,159 missions in this period.
causes and changes
The reasons for the decline in the number of operations are diverse. In addition to normal fluctuations and weather -related flight failures, extended treatment powers for emergency paramedics and the increasing use of telenot doctors also play a role. Almost 135 alarms were able to cope with the ADAC helicopter on average per day, with serious injuries to make up the most common number of applications after accidents, as presseportal.de
Frédéric Bruder, Managing Director of ADAC Telenotarz GGmbH, calls for a reform of the emergency and emergency services as well as better possible uses in the dark. The use of telenotologists is intended to improve emergency care and support local medical care. In 2024, 552 winch inserts were carried out, while the number of night and twilight flights remained almost constant.
social demography of the missions
An interesting aspect of the missions is the composition of the patients. Almost 10 percent of patients were children or adolescents. Demographic distribution continued with 59 percent male patients in the missions. Key factors in the missions were injuries to accidents (31 percent), cardiovascular emergencies (26 percent), neurological emergencies (13 percent) and shortness of breath (7 percent).
The ADAC air rescue is a subsidiary of the ADAC Foundation and runs a total of 55 rescue helicopters at 38 stations in Germany. The organization has had over 1.3 million missions since its foundation. The modern technology with helicopters of the types H135 and H145 is intended to ensure that the emergency supply remains continuously at a high level.
