Young politicians in the Mainz state parliament: EU debate inspires young people!
The “Raising Europe’s Stars” business game at the beginning of February offered an exciting opportunity for 56 young people between the ages of 16 and 19 to experience the mechanisms of the European Union up close. The event in the Mainz state parliament took place under the organization of the Rhineland-Palatinate partnership association and as part of the Erasmus program. The participants came from different regions: Rhineland-Palatinate, Burgundy Franche Comté in France, Opole in Poland and Central Bohemia in the Czech Republic.
The students took over the roles of MPs from the Council of the European Union and debated important topics such as the "Green Deal", climate neutrality, the use of nuclear power and common security and defense policy.
