Elfriede Krapp will be 100: a life full of memories and strength!
On May 9, 2025, the Palatinate -born Elfriede Krapp will celebrate her 100th birthday. Despite her move to Wuppertal in 2017, she was the Rheinpfalz which represents an important connection to home for them. Her son, Willy Krapp, emphasizes that the local newspaper was always part of her life for his mother, especially after moving.
Elfriede Krapp grew up in a farmhouse in Münsterappel as one of nine siblings. Her father died early, and her grandmother had to raise the seven children on a single parent during the Second World War. At the age of 17, she had to dig trenches on the Westwall and build tank barriers, which shaped her early sense of responsibility.
a moving life
After the war, she married Wilhelm Krapp, a 15 -year -old back of war, and the couple had two sons. By the end of the 1970s, she led an “corner shop” in Oberhausen. After the death of her husband in 1984, she lived alone in an old school building. The move to her son to Wuppertal 2017 was necessary because she could no longer live alone, and she now enjoys her new life in the granny apartment.
in Wuppertal, she takes regular walks with her son and enjoys visiting her grandchildren and eight great -grandchildren, all of whom live in the Palatinate. Elfriede Krapp still enjoys her life and actively participates in what enriches her retirement.
understand age
The current society shows growing awareness of the life of older people. The German Alterssurvey has been providing valuable data on the living conditions and that since 1996 Well -being of older people. This long -term study illuminates aspects such as health behavior, social support and quality of life.
The knowledge from the German age survey is important in order to better understand the challenges and opportunities of aging.
