Voluntary journalism: award for Landau Marathon reportage!
On May 10, 2025, the open channel Landau was honored by Thomas Hoffmann with an important award at the OK-TAG 2025 in Bitburg. Hoffmann received second place at the Citizens' Media Prize for his report on the "Bréal Marathon Landau", an event that was launched on the occasion of the 750th anniversary of the city.
The Bréal Marathon is a tribute to the French scholar Michel Bréal, which once submitted the proposal for a long -distance run in the Olympic program. Bréal attended schools in Landau as a student, which makes this marathon a special event in the city. Hoffmann's contribution not only illuminates the sporting events and the organization of the marathon, but also the historical connection that combines it with the city and Bréal itself. This underlines the cultural and sporting importance of the event in the region.
