On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the "Radel to the Museum" campaign day takes place in the southern Palatinate. On this special day, 20 museums and information centers in the Germersheim district and 4 museums in the Südliche Weinstrasse district open their doors free of charge for visitors from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event promises a diverse and entertaining program for young and old. The day begins at 11.15 a.m. with a ceremonial opening in the local museum in Freckenfeld, which is musically framed by the music club "Lyra" Freckenfeld e.V.
The local museum in Freckenfeld has a lot to propose throughout the day of the campaign. In addition to tours, a home film from 1960 is shown. In addition, quiz and games for children are on the program. Visitors can also look forward to food, drinks, coffee and cake, which are provided by the Singfonia Musikverein Freckenfeld. Attractive digital museum rally on the "Actionbound" app is another exciting way to explore the museums.

This year two digital rally are offered. The first leads to several striking points on an approximately 30 km long bike tour, including the Terra Sigillata Museum in Rheinzabern and the fishing house in Leimersheim. The second rally is an approximately 26 -kilometer tour through the South Palatinate cattle and the Bienwald, where various museums are visited.
In addition, an online puzzle tour around the Weißenburger Tor and the Germersheim fortress is offered. The newly built stork hiking trail in Winden is also not neglected; A guided tour begins at 2 p.m. without registration. There are also guided tours on the tobacco path in Hatzenbühl and city and fortress tours in Germersheim and read in the Ludowici chapel in Jockgrim.

A special highlight awaits visitors in the Terra Sigillata Museum, which organizes a “Roman craftsman festival”. There are hands -on stations, a play and a Roman fashion show. The children can take part in a children's rally and a museum tour with a Roman bronze bike at 5 p.m. Historical tours are also planned for 2 p.m. Entry and guided tours within the museums are free of charge, only a small material fee may apply to workshops.
The participating museums include the Heimatstube Lingenfeld, the German Road Museum Germersheim, the Terra-Sigillata-Museum Rheinzabern and the Scholl motorcycle collection in Minfeld.
