on the training series "Help with helping"
The training series "Help with Help" was launched in 2000 and has been updated regularly since 2015. The content of the series is not only theoretical nature, but also aim to actively support caring relatives and to improve the use of dementia patients. One focus is on communication and dealing with people suffering from dementia. In addition, five films were produced that address the everyday life of relatives and stimulate anonymized reflection processes. These films offer participants the opportunity to question their own behavior and to develop new solutions in groups.
The interactive seminar program is designed to ensure that moderators and course management can carry out training courses on site. Presentation films and accompanying texts are provided for each module to promote the exchange and participation in the event. It is particularly important to the organizers that the participants can contribute their own experiences, which leads to a lively atmosphere of learning.
self -help groups and networks
In addition to the training series, many regional Alzheimer's companies in Rhineland-Palatinate also offer self-help groups. These groups are a valuable resource for relatives of people with dementia, since they not only offer support and understanding, but also enable a feeling of community and exchange. It is often possible members of the self -help groups to bring the people who are ill if they are mobile.
Due to mutual support in these groups, isolation can be overcome and a bridge to the living environment can be beaten. Relatives have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others and to gain new perspectives on their own stress. This not only promotes understanding of the challenges, but also offers solutions that can be implemented in practice. Various contacts with volunteers and other relief offers are also placed by the regional Alzheimer's societies.
Questions about the training series can be addressed to the office of the regional nursing conference in the district administration of Germersheim, either by phone at 07274 53-1230 or by email to b.schlindwein@kreis-germersheim.de. The cooperation partner for this sensible offer is the Barmer health insurance company.
