FCK tests against Slovenian first division team: everything about the game in Malta!

On January 8, 2025, the 1. FC Kaiserslautern will play his first friendly in preparation for the second half of the 2nd Bundesliga. The game takes place against NK Bravo from Ljubljana, a Slovenian first division club. The kick -off is at 4 p.m. in the Ta’qali nation stadium in Malta, where the FCK has been preparing intensively for the upcoming challenges since January 5. The test game encounter also represents the only test for Markus's team during their training camp on the Mediterranean island.

The preparation started on Friday evening with the first training session in St. Paul’s Bay, followed by several other practice units, including intensive training on Saturday with two units. A fan afternoon was organized for the numerous travelers who traveled with us on Sunday, while additional training sessions took place on Monday and in the afternoon.

NK Bravo has been playing in the PRVA Liga Telemach since the 2019/20 season and has established itself as a strong opponent in the current season. At the moment the team is in fifth place in the table and remains undefeated in six competitive games, with four wins and two draws. Nevertheless, NK Bravo failed in the qualification for the Conference League at the beginning of the season, and the FCK will aim to use this phase as an opportunity to increase its own.

The test game against NK Bravo is broadcast live on YouTube, so that fans of the red devils have the opportunity to pursue the action directly from Malta. The live stream begins a few minutes before the kick -off and is presented by Hargesheimer Security. This transmission is part of a larger initiative to include the fan community and increase the transparency of the preparation, especially after a mixed start of the season.

The FCK fought itself up in the table of the 2nd Bundesliga after a difficult start to the season, but is currently ninth after a bitter 0-1 defeat against 1. FC Köln, which increased the deficit to the first direct promotion place to three points. The dress rehearsal before the second half of the season will take place on Saturday after returning from the training camp against the Luxembourgische Verein FC Progrès Niederkorn, who is trained by ex-FCK professional Jeff Strasser.

The start of the second half of the season finally takes place on January 18, 2025 against the promoted SSV Ulm, which exerts additional pressure on the team to present themselves well in the upcoming test games and find the necessary form.
