An encryption trojan managed to infiltrate the school-internal server of many educational institutions. The district administration quickly found that the servers of an external IT service provider were affected, but not the district administration's servers itself.

After the occurrence of the threat, all connections between the schools and the network of the district administration were immediately cut. This prevented access to important data from several schools. The State Criminal Police Office was informed and has taken over the investigation. So far there is no evidence of data outflow, but the events are related to a similar incident in Speyer.
