The SV Ruchheim faces an important anniversary: in 2025 the club turns 100. Founded on October 24, 1925 in the Gottfried Kreiselmeier inn, the founding meeting was the birth of one of the oldest football clubs in the region. The initiators of this sporting community were Heinrich Wink, Richard Kreiselmeier, Karl Schick, Ernst Gutermann and August Renner, who, together with 34 other members, took the first steps for the association. Die Rheinpfalz reports: May 20, 2025 A football game between the traditional teams of SV Ruchheim and the 1st FC Kaiserslautern.
The celebrations as part of the anniversary year also includes a big festival on October 24th in the community house, in which numerous invited guests are expected. The program also provides for an AH tournament and additional games of the active people on May 3. Another highlight will be an open-air appearance of the Bon-Jovi tribute band "Bounce" on July 5th.
history of the association
The story of SV Ruchheim is characterized by ups and downs. After its foundation in 1925, the association experienced promising developments in the early years. At the first general assembly on November 7, 1925, 55 members were already registered, including 27 players for the newly founded football team. The original name of the association was "FC Ruchheim 1925" and there was a start -up capital of 25.65 marks, collected by volunteers.
The early years of the association were not always easy. In the 1930s there were challenges due to the economic situation and the politics of National Socialism. In 1937 a compulsory merger with SV Ruchheim in 1937 took place. After the Second World War, the association was re -founded, as a "sports club Ruchheim 1946", with departments for football and handball. This re -establishment made it possible for the association to re -establish themselves after the difficult years of war.
from the beginning to today
The first sporting successes were not long in coming. As early as 1953, the promotion to the second amateur class, and in 1968 the new sports field on Bunnenweg was opened, which was a significant improvement in training conditions. Despite the initial difficulties, such as moving and showing off at school, the number of members of 200 grew continuously in the 1950s.
This day, SV Ruchheim plays in the A-Class Rhein-Palatinate under coach Zdravko Barisic and, not least, sees itself as an integral part of the local community.
The planned anniversary events are deliberately well prepared financially and organizationally in order to meet the many members and the community. The club website provides detailed insights into the past and the development of SV Ruchheim and emphasizes the resistance and community spirit of the association.
The anniversary of SV Ruchheim will not only be a celebration of the club's history, but also a sign of the importance of football as part of regional identity and culture.
