Cheerforce Koblenz celebrates twice: regional champions and German championship!

On February 15, 2025, the West Regional Championship took place in the "Ring Arena" at the Nürburgring, in which the cheerleaders of the Cheerforce Koblenz, a department of the Coblenz gymnastics company 1880 e.V., measured themselves with a total of seven other teams. After a challenging time with many cases of illness in advance, the cheerforce teams were able to achieve impressive results. According to Blick Aktuell , both the "Cheerforce Hurricane" and the "Cheerforce Eclipse" secured first place and thus became regional champions. In addition, the “Cheerforce Twinkles” team qualified for the German Championship, which will take place on March 29, 2025 in Neu-Ulm.

The event was a milestone for the Cheerforce Koblenz, which had previously qualified at the Rhineland-Palatinate Cup. In addition to the successes of the regional championship, the team also plans to participate in the "German All Level" in Düsseldorf, where they also did very successfully. "Cheerforce Hurricane", "Cheerforce Twinkles" and "Cheerforce Blizzard" took first place, while "Cheerforce Eclipse" reached second place. This enables the "Cheerforce Twinkles" and "Cheerforce Blizzard" to qualify for the European Championship in Portugal.

early successes and participation in championships

At the senior teams, “Cheerforce Hail” had a good appearance with third place and thus received the bronze medal. The other senior teams, such as "Cheerforce Thunder" and "Cheerforce Lightning", were also able to achieve good places.

growth of cheerleading sports in Germany

cheerleading has gained popularity in Germany in recent decades and has developed from its roots in the USA into an established competition sport. According to Cheerleading100 , the cheerleading and cheer performance association (CCVD) is the largest of its kind in the country and was founded in 2007. With over 30,000 members and official recognition as an Olympic sport in 2017, the sport shows an impressive dynamic and development.

Regional and state championships are regularly held in Germany, which benefits the team spirit and the self-confidence of the athletes. With often up to four training sessions a week, the teams prepare intensively for the competitions. These championships not only offer the teams the opportunity to show and rival themselves, but also to achieve qualifications for the German and European Championship.
