On January 29, 2025, Lahnstein has a new representative of the disabled: Dennis Bloem. In this voluntary function, he has set himself the goal of representing the interests of the city's disabled inhabitants. Bloem acts as an important interface between the city administration and the people with disabilities in Lahnstein. The attention of this volunteering was drawn by a report by the radio station Antenne Koblenz in August 2024. After his application, he was appointed to this office on December 18, 2024 during a meeting of the city council.
In his new role, it is important to support the citizens of Lahnstein with advice and action. He wants to support the concerns of people with disabilities through personal office hours in the department, social affairs and sport. These consultation hours take place in the administration building in Bahnhofstrasse 49a. The next dates are on February 25, March 18 and April 15, 2025, each from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
personal office hours
Citizens are invited to make an appointment by email at d.bloem@lahnstein.de. Bloem can also be reached outside of these office hours and offers a call back by telephone. He would like to meet the individual needs of the disabled people and make sure that their concerns are heard.
In addition to Bloem's commitment, there is news in Lahnstein news in the area of residential institutions for people with disabilities. The Schuires Foundation plans to build a new house on Sebastianusstrasse, which will be built this year. Planning is planned for 24 people with primarily mental impairment who visit a workshop or day care center.
New living concept for Lahnstein
The innovative living concept attaches particular importance to living family and city-close living for residents from Lahnstein and the surrounding area. A 24-hour care concept with social participation and individual support is offered here. Community activities such as parties, excursions and visits to worship are also part of the everyday life of future residents.
Every resident receives a personal care plan that is tailored to your needs. The apartments are designed in such a way that they are designed in the form of double apartments with two single rooms and a shared bathroom. In addition, common rooms, such as an open kitchen and a living room, are available.
A barrier -free access to the floors through an elevator enables residents to live independently and self -determined. In this context, the connection to therapists for physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy is another advantage of the new house.
The concept promotes independent life and offers valuable support in the everyday life of the residents. If you are interested in this new house, you can contact Sabrina Wittig or Sylvia Saggese directly.
