New hospice opened in Nassau: A place of humanity!

2024 is considered a decisive year for the Community Clinic Middle Rhine (GKM). Political actors have to make several millions of decisions that are important for the future of the clinic. In July 2024, the district of Mayen-Koblenz and the city of Koblenz will present their plans for the conversion of the GKM of the press. District Administrator Alexander Saftig (CDU) and Mayor David Langner (SPD) have announced that they would present the details about this important project. The Rhein-Lahn hospice in Nassau was opened in another medical context on Saturday. On this occasion, over 500 visitors gathered from the Rhein-Lahn district and beyond. Dr. Martin Schencking, initiator of the project and chairman of the association, was warmly thanked for his efforts. The first guests are to be recorded in the hospice in early January. Building director Michael Alles praised the cooperation of everyone involved, while Hanne Benz, the head of the hospice, thanked the team for the timely completion. Politicians from the state and the federal government and local representatives took part in the opening. The project was made possible by donations from individuals, companies and foundations, with special words of thanks to the G. and I. Leifheitfoundung, the Else-Schütz Foundation and the Löwenstein Family Foundation. The hospice is looked after by a multi -professional team that consists of two palliative care doctors and 17 nursing staff.
