Danger on the Leverkusen bridge: ice ensures chaos and accidents!
On Friday morning, drivers at the Leverkusen bridge have to expect significant delays. The reason for this is several accidents that took place on Thursday evening due to falling ice from the bridge pillars. As the Rundschau online reported a total of four cars from 5:30 p.m., with sheet metal damage caused. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries.
To ensure security, the police blocked the right lanes and the walking and bike paths. Despite the tense situation, the night went on the bridge without further incidents. It remains unclear when the blocked areas can be released again. The authorities hope for rising temperatures that could improve the weather conditions. However, the German Weather Service warns of further snow and black ice until Friday morning.
