Cultural highlights at the Osthafen: A festival for all generations!

An exciting cultural diversity is planned for the next few months at the Osthafen in Saarbrücken, which causes a stir, especially in April 2025. From April 11th to 15th, a music theater will be performed as part of a cooperation between the Saarland State Theater and the University of Music. The director Beate Baron stages two one act of Jacques Offenbach: "Chief evening wind" and "BA-Ta-Clan". These works address exaggerated patriotism, colonialism and the fascination for exotic. The performances start every day at 7.30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on the website of the Saarland State Theater.

Another highlight this month is the presentation of the project [Inter] Generation on April 24, which aims to beat bridges between different age groups. For this purpose, workshops, festival visits and thematic walks are offered. In particular, participants are sought: inside between 65 and 99 years. A come-together will take place on April 24 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and registration by email is required.

On April 25th, the harbor cinema will be held, which is in collaboration with the Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival. The evening film screenings begin at 7:00 p.m., admission takes place at 6.30 p.m. Among other things, “Short Notice”, “1:10” and “At Home I Feel Like Leaving” are shown. On April 28, the Urban Art Meeting, entitled "Beautiful Colorful World", will take place. The renowned graffiti artist Jeroo, who has been active since 1993 and has found internationally recognition, will create a new mural. In addition, Jeroo is the author of the textbook "Graffiti School" and was honored by Deutsche Post in 2022 with a street art letter brand.

However, the planned events at the Osthafen end in April, because the following events are already on the program in May:

In June, visitors can also expect numerous highlights. This includes the Perspectives Festival from June 5th to 14th, which is organized in cooperation with a Franco-German festival for stage art. In addition, the Osthafenfest will take place from June 20th to 22nd, which is celebrated on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Eastern Hall.

press spokeswoman Marion Touze emphasizes that the events for all ages are designed. In June, an urban art plant by artist Daniel Lettermann will also be realized. Another highlight will be the concert of the Saarland State Theater with Rummelsnuff on June 15th.

In the following weeks, visitors can expect even more attractions, such as the film screening in the harbor on June 18, a series of lectures on June 20 and the harbor market on June 29th.
