Reichenbach-Stegen: A village becomes a musician country and inspires everyone!

Reichenbach steals successfully completed the development process for the “Musikantenlanddorf”. On this important step, District Administrator Ralf Leßmeister particularly praised the committed participation of the village community in the inter-municipal transformer project "West Palatinate Musician Land". Mayor Kathrin Wolf received the musiciansland village signs for the four districts, which symbolizes the end of the project. In the spring of 2025, large marble runs are planned for playgrounds in the districts.

In the second year of tenders, Reichenbach-Stegen, Enkenbach-Alsenborn, Brücken and Jettenbach applied for this title.

The “West Palatinate Musician Land” project aims to shape the regional cultural landscape and found sustainable partnerships. It is one of the projects as part of the transformer process, which was initiated by the federal cultural foundation to support rural regions in Germany. Trafo promotes the opening of cultural institutions for new tasks and aims to strengthen the importance of culture in public perception.

The program includes the support of museums, theaters, music schools and cultural centers that react to social challenges and develop a new self -image. Meetings are created and the programs opened to the content of third parties to promote the exchange and cooperation between politics, administration, cultural actors and voluntary initiatives.

A total of various regions were supported from 2015 to 2021 before, among others, Altenburger Land and West Palatinate were funded in the second phase from 2019 to 2024. The transformer projects are co-financed with a total budget of 26.6 million euros. The exemption of staff of local or district administrations for cooperation is also part of the program to ensure the success of these cultural transformation projects.
