Burg Spring 2025: Discover flowers, herbs and adventures for the whole family!

On Sunday, May 18, 2025, visitors to Lichtenberg Castle near Kusel are now expecting the “Burg Spring” for the eighth time. This event offers a rich program and introduces young and old into the colorful world of plants and nature. As Meeting point Pfalz , the festivities take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free and there is sufficient parking facilities.

The "Burg Spring" includes numerous activities that are suitable for the entire family. A highlight is the flower and herbal market on which various retailers offer their goods. From herbs to spices to garden decoration and soaps, everything that makes the heart of a garden lover beat faster. In addition, visitors can look forward to culinary delicacies with regional specialties.

There is a special focus on the special exhibitions, which will be shown in the Geoscope and tithe barn in the Urweltmuseum. The geoscope shows the special exhibition "Amphibia - Miracle of Evolution", while the exhibition "Südwest Open" is presented in the tithe barn. A art exhibition by the Denzer family will also be seen in the youth hostel, which sets a cultural accent.

Numerous hands -on stations are offered for children. Here you can prepare fossils and gemstones, watch the sun or be enchanted when making children's make -up. There are also interactive games with musical instruments and the opportunity to take part in tours through the geoscope and the castle. Other tours include a wild herbal hike and special offers in the herb garden.

A musical supporting program creates a festive atmosphere. Young talents from the Kuseler Musikantenland music school will show their skills, followed by the brass band of the police orchestra "Men in Blue". The crowning glory is the Usafe Musiken ensemble "The Ambassadors", which will present a diverse musical repertoire.

The journey to the Lichtenberg Castle is easy and conveniently possible via the "Burgenbus" (line 297), which drives from 9:18 a.m. every two hours from Kusel to the castle. The last bus back to Kusel drives at 5:31 p.m. For visitors who look forward to a special experience in nature and the region, the “Burg Spring” is definitely an event that should not be missed.
