First evening sports festival in Edenkoben: a race for fame and honor!
The LCO Edenkoben invites you to the first Edenkobener Sparkassen evening sports festival on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The event begins at 6 p.m. and could be seen as a potential successor for the popular mountain run in the region. The LCO Edenkoben has established itself as a reliable organizer for decades and is pleased to attract athletes from all over Germany again this year, in particular for the 45th senior sports festival, which will take place in June, like the Rheinpfalz reported.
patron of the event is LCO chairman Heinz Vogelgesang, who has already successfully coordinated the organization of the competition with his team. The tender has been expanded to offer a new 3000-meter distance for both women and men. The competitions include various disciplines, including individual ratings and team trophies in several age groups as well as different running competitions of 100 to 3000 meters.
competitive details
interested athletes can register until midnight until the registration deadline on Friday, May 2, 2025. Late registrations are possible on the competition day up to 90 minutes before the start of the competitions. The participation fees are 5 euros per discipline, while late registrations with a fee of 7 euros are occupied. Payments are made on site in cash. The following disciplines are planned for the competition:
- Individual ratings and team cup in the age groups men, women, U20/U18, U16
- Junior long-distance run in the age groups U20, U18, U16, U14

- shot put: men, U20, U18, U16
The team ranking is evaluated according to a national points table of the DLV. Each club can report any number of teams, whereby all four running disciplines have to be completed by a team. The award ceremony provides for trophies for the best teams in every age group and for the best performance in the U16 category.
infrastructure and organization
The time measurement is carried out electronically by the LV Palatinate. The stadium has a plastic covering, whereby only spikes with a maximum thorn length of 6 mm are allowed. Dressing and shower rooms are available in the large sports hall, while parking facilities are available at the large sports hall and the adjacent school and club sports grounds.
The organization is located in the hands of the LCO Edenkoben, under the direction of Heinz Vogelgesang.
