Landauer Maimarkt 2025: Tradition, fun and magical highlights!
The 132nd Landau Maimarkt was ceremoniously opened on the old Messensplatz on April 26, 2023. Mayor Lukas Hartmann opened the event at 3 p.m. because the mayor was on vacation. The opening was accompanied by the wine princess Emma I. and Robert Stenglein and a parade of prominent guests who enthusiastically moved to the stage in the wine village.
Visitors were able to look forward to a varied program that was made possible by planning tourism chief Nina Ziegler and market champion Sonja Brunner-Hagedorn. The market mascot and a stiltinger provided additional highlights and entertainment. Wizard Ted Luis and Wizard Hentrick delighted the audience with their show performances, while children were colorful in Theaterstrasse.
tradition and diversity
The Landau Maimarkt is characterized by its traditional wine village, which offers wines from eight incorporated districts: Arzheim, Dammheim, Godramstein, Mörlheim, Mörzheim, Nußdorf, Queichheim and Wollmesheim. The offer is supplemented by a “Fressgasse” that presents culinary delights of the Palatinate, and a Krammarkt, on which manual rarities can be found.
The large amusement park with rides and attractions offers fun for every age group. Highlight is the unique wine tasting on the Ferris wheel with a view of Landau, which takes place on April 29 at 6 p.m. Tickets for this cost between 29 and 39 euros, depending on the occupancy of the gondola.
